If you are no longer satisfied with catching a pike by mere chance, then you must study this predator in minute detail.
Become a successful pike angler and learn tricks that even some of the “pros” don’t know yet.
Get 31 exclusive illustrations that show you how to catch more pike.
It’s not your fault. Pike are voracious predators. However, that’s not enough. First, you have to find them.
Learn when the pike is most like to lose its inhibitions and start feeding.
If you are no longer satisfied with catching a pike by mere chance, then you must study this predator in minute detail.
Become a successful pike angler and learn tricks that even some of the “pros” don’t know yet.
You will love this book. You will gain a scientific understanding on how to best locate pike, regardless of the conditions, the weather or the season.
The book is a faithful companion — year after year.
Wouldn’t it be great to have a good idea of where to find pike before you head to the water? In several scenarios, we have drawn the best hotspots directly into different water maps.
That should give you a pretty accurate idea of where and how deep the pike should stay in your respective water body.
Pike Chapter 6.37 – Pike above the vegetation with roaches as prey
Pike hunt mainly during the day. Different environmental conditions might cause their biting behaviour to fluctuate from month to month and from water body to water body.
We have summarized the relationships between environmental influences and the biting behaviour of pike.
Sun, wind, air pressure, currents, water turbidity, oxygen, water temperature, and more—everything is included!
Many studies on pike deal exclusively with the prey and eating behaviour of this predator.
It has been proven that weather conditions, seasons and the prey itself have an enormous influence on the final attack of the pike.
We’ll show you how to recognize the best opportunities and persuade more pike to bite.
Wir zeigen dir wie du die beste Gelegenheit erkennst und so mehr Hechte zum Anbiss überredest.

There is no more interesting reading on the pike!
Big compliments to the book! I fish for pike since childhood (and that’s already more than thirty years) and I must say, there is no more interesting reading on the pike! I find many of my own theories confirmed here, but even better:
this book also offers really new approaches!
I have already broken my fishing record for pike with the knowledge from the book.
I am sure that I can even catch more. Thank you for your work, diligence, and enthusiasm.
Thank you for this masterpiece!

As a self-confessed reluctant reader, I read the entire book within 3 days.
Comprehensive without any verbiage, thinking outside the box, well-founded, meaningful, and sophisticated graphics, and to top it all off, written in an entertaining way.
Unreserved purchase recommendation.
I already had new ideas after just a few chapters.
As with the pikeperch book, helpful tips for improving strategy are given for all conceivable situations (seasons, waters, weather, etc.).
The results from various experiments and tests help to better understand the pike and its behavior. Especially the scientific guidance in combination with my own experiences gave me new ideas after just a few chapters!
The time for fishing is limited for most anglers. On average each angler gets to fish 13 times a year. Our time is therefore quite limited and every additional minute counts, especially when fishing. The most precious time is lost searching for the supposedly best fishing spot. If we are unsuccessful, we spend our time constantly on the go.
That is where we enter the equation. Using modern methods such as fish finders, net and electrofish or behavioural studies, scientists throughout Europe are researching the pike’s behavioral patterns.
Scientists are often interested in the same questions as we are.
And we can use their findings to improve our fishing significantly.
The answers to this question will help us to choose the perfect bait for each season.
If you know the optimal size of the prey, you are more likely to pick the most suitable bait size.
If you can only fish a few days a year, you should have an idea of the best fishing times. Scientists have found that this depends on the water and the season. What works in May could lead to many slow days in June.
Pike fishing requires a lot of finesse.
Those who mindlessly cast and reel will go home empty-handed quite often.
Understanding how the pike hunts, how it sneaks up on its prey and how long it takes to attack will give you a better feel for how to present your bait. That allows you to move your bait realistically and attractively for the pike.
No, not all this information is freely available on the internet. We spent a lot of time browsing through scientific databases and spent a lot of money on individual studies.
These studies are often only 5-10 pages long but sometimes cost more than this book.
We have read and evaluated many of these studies in different languages. Scientists have marked pike with transmitters all over the world.
That enabled us to record the respective positions of the pike across many water bodies over months and years. Whether in rivers or lakes, we evaluated the pike’s behavioral patterns and were able to draw conclusions about potential hotspots for each season.
So you see, not all the information in the book is freely available online. In over 280 pages, this book gives you concise information on the behavior and habitat of pike.
